Description
This course includes an overview of workers’ compensation insurance in Western Australia (WA).
It provides practical and relevant education to you as a broker on the role you play, and the responsibilities you have to your clients, within the context of the workers’ compensation scheme in WA.
Objectives
The objectives of this course are to:
- develop your understanding of the WA workers’ compensation scheme
- understand the role of:
- the ‘employer’ (your client) and their workers’ compensation legal obligations
- the insurer which indemnifies employers, and assesses and manages workers' compensation claims
- WorkCover WA in administering and regulating the scheme, and independently resolving disputes
This will enable you as the broker to assist your clients to meet their legal obligations and negotiate fair and reasonable terms with insurers.
